Show us your TV

Not often I`m showing our TV, but here it is.
We used to have a small, square, thick, old fashioned 14" TV - which was OK.
It's just that for us to be able to see the screen it had to sit on a stool just next to the armchair.
And so it occupied the entire space between the sofa group and the side board.
The purchase of a 32" flat TV was made as soon as the prices were a bit down.
The funny thing is that by getting a bigger TV the living room felt so much bigger as well.
This TV is just right for our small living room, big enough that we can see, but it doesn't dominate the room.

Just next to the living room entrance door, and sitting quite high on a tall side board.
I love that it's so high up on the wall;
then I can lie on the sofa and still be able to se the TV screen
without the table blocking my view...:)

In the windowsill

These beautiful votive holders may sit in the windowsill in the dining room, the decor and colours are lovely.
From Søstrene Grene.

Favourite colour combination for the time being; peach/nude and mustard yellow.

From within

Hay note tower is a long time favourite and has been on my wish list since I first saw it.
This was my Christmas present to myself this year:)

Now it gets to sit in the window sill in the living room next to a small, very worn notebook.

The binder with the cute pattern is from Søstrene Grene.

Broken

I loved it sitting empty on a shelf...

or filled with the peculiar beauty of a fading tulip.

Nothing lasts forever.
My little Omaggio vase had a tough meeting with the floor
and is no more.

Pennyfarthing

There are so many cool dish towels around. Too cool to be used only for their designated purpose.
I got this fun dish towel with the bicycle illustration for Christmas.

Far too cool to stay hidden in a kitchen drawer with the rest of the kitchen towels.
So I framed it and put it up on the living room wall.
Love the simple black and white illustration.
Pennyfarthing is apparently the English name for this bike,
referring to the sizes of the wheels; one larger and one smaller.

Four bags

For advent I made and numbered four bags, one for each advent weekend. I intended this to be mostly an activity calendar, mostly for my daughter, but  a little bit for me also.
The first held my daughter`s Playmobil pony ranch advent calendar.
The second had movie tickets.

The third held a swim cap and a promise to go swimming during January.
The fourth held tickets for a symphonic concert.

Lingering on

Since I've not been an eager blogger before Christmas, I'll show some pictures from our Christmas decorated house now.
In fact we didn't have much decoration, only some on the tables and some extra lightings.
Still, when our tall tree was put up the living room felt Christmassy enough:)

The raindrops are streaming down the window, the only snow we had was inside the glass snowball.
The girl with the skies seems very relaxed. But that's OK, now that Christmas is over:)

The modest white-green-wood theme from Christmas Eve was replaced on Christmas Day
by colourful flowers, candles and bowls
- all gifts from under the tree.

I've let the decoration linger on longer than usual this year, I'll probably let it stay till weekend.

Happy new year 2013

The table laid out for a festive dinner.
Actually this is a redo of the Christmas eve table, very simple, but when the food was laid out it got kind of full:)

Now it's time to rip off the white table cloth.
The holidays are over as is vacation. Today is back to work.
I've had such a wonderful Christmas it feels a shame to put away the holiday decoration.
On the other hand I love that it's January.
The days will be lighter, the year is new and possibilities indefinite...?
